And We are Off (again)

And We are Off (again)

C2S Logo JPGSqHello! So happy to finally set up this website and share thoughts with you.  The fall has taken off with a vengeance.  Staying centered is key.

I usually wake up with interesting thoughts and want to know how they would help the world.  However, since I stayed up till 2 a.m. this morning, all I can think of was what was the quickest way to get my son fed, lunch-bagged, to high school, without crashing the car?

We have a 20 minute commute to his experiential education school.  I’m grateful that they stretch my son’s mind and muscles.  They hike and ski as a school for community building.  They clean the city’s green space on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

While this is worthwhile for Twinkle Toes, the mother with a total of 15 hours of sleep in the last 3 nights has to contend with rush hour traffic and feeling un-presentable when running into fellow parents.  I am lucky that I don’t have a 9-5 job to get to after the drop-off.

This morning I also wish that I have 3 brains to learn all the things I want and at least 2 bodies to drive my son, exercise, nap, and write at the same time.

Cheryl Richardson, the coaching guru, posted on Facebook today about doing when the energy moves you, not when the guilt or obligation piles up.  Timely -is this what I did last night?  I let the desire of creating this website and blog drive me into the wee hours, knowing that I had to get up early.

It’s not quite what Cheryl says. I think she means sleep and let it come, not stay up and let it come.  Like you, I am still learning.

Nevertheless, I feel much better now that this is up.  This way people can read a bit about what I do and who I am.  I hope you can let your creative energy propel you to do what you need, and heed to fatigue.  I’m definitely heeding tonight.

  1. Excellent stuff Sue the Sage.
I especially like the discussion about feeling “unpresentable” in the midst of trying to do a lot. I also really got a kick about your listening to the coach/guru but also checking in with yourself about how realistic this may be and when you can get there. Lastly, the funny part is about 3 different brains and a separate body to do everything necessary to get to where you want to be. I applaud you! <3

Thank you JD, for your visit and comment! OMG, the presentable thing… it’s like, oops, didn’t wash my hair; oops, didn’t even wash my face; oops, have to get out of the car, didn’t shave the legs. And answer the question of How Are You fully when I wasn’t quite awake.

My teeth are always clean though.

I feel quite privileged to have the opportunity to learn what I want to learn, do my calling here, despite driving the kid and all.
