11 Self-Loving Steps to Let Go, Move On

11 Self-Loving Steps to Let Go, Move On

[3.3.24] It was a bright day – the sun’s warm rays begged for t-shirt and shorts. I sat on the porch enjoying a golden turmeric lemon ACV drink. Its translucent color in the Mason jar glowed in the morning light.

I had wanted to write this post for a week but the outdoors beckoned. A walk under the sun or draft the post and get it done?

That was a minor decision. What about big, life-altering ones? I’ve been coaching people who have limited mental space, energy, resources, yet working hard to shift. In times like this we see what really matters.

It’s emotional, intuitive Pisces season (2/18-3/19/24). Of the water element and last sign in the zodiac, it signifies learnings from the last 11 months. The energy supports inclusion through blending boundaries, letting go, doing our cosmic composting before the visceral, initiating power of Aries/Spring Equinox emerges.

Great time to declutter, go lighter, and get ready to act on our dreams and goals:

  1. Where does it hurt: Pick an area of your life you want to shift.
  2. Assess: What’s happened and lessons learned. How exhausted or drained are you, on a scale of 1-10 (10 = extremely tired)? What number would you like it to be?
  3. Your values: How does the current situation honor you or contribute to your personal goal?
  4. What can you do: What’s within your control; what’s not?
  5. Calibration: How much more can you improve or tolerate in this area?
  6. Intentional surrender: Discern the patterns (opposite of Pisces is the analytical Virgo) and release what no longer resonates. This is not quitting or losing – it’s recognizing that it’s not your battle anymore. Use your body and sense of knowing, feel. What do you need to stop fighting or even go along with?
  7. Healthy replacement: When you let go of the current dynamic, what would you replace it with? What are you saying yes to, and no to, by doing things differently?
  8. Self-compassion: OK to grieve what is no longer the same. Take the time, journal to acknowledge the change. The more I coach, the more I feel this is important. Even if it’s a conscious decision, like leaving a toxic job, there are still things lost: routine, colleagues, job title, income. Recognize them before moving on.
  9. Forgive yourself and others: Everyone makes the best decisions with the knowledge and resources they had at the time. There is no blame, but understanding why things happened – it can be healing.
  10. Become whole: I use the concept of Horcruxes in Harry Potter as an example. When we experience traumatic or upsetting events, energetically we leave a part of us behind. Get into a meditative space (or journal), go back to that time, and claim the lost part of you. If this is triggering, find appropriate support, a therapist, coach, or healer for it.
  11. Feel successful: Celebrate all efforts made, big and small wins in the area of life in question, so that you feel you are capable. You have worked hard to create a life – give yourself credit! In this process, gratitude will show up too.

The world is moving fast. It’s stressful for those who are caretakers and lightworkers. Being honest about how we really are, minding our needs is imperative.

CLIENT FEEDBACK

“I believe that the energy healing session I had with Sue Wang saved my life. After prolonged exposure to black mold, I had a chronic cough, and my energy became increasingly and alarmingly depleted. As a lightworker, I’m a bit selective about energy healers. I relocated my residence and after several months really needed help and was unable to find someone locally. At one point, I felt like I might be on the brink of death. Fortunately, I read Sue’s blog about how she works as a remote healer and booked a session. She scheduled me the next day on a Sunday morning. The write up she sent after the session explained my lung situation and identified another blockage that had held me back for over 15 years. One week after my session, my lung function has improved dramatically. I have more energy and can breathe deeply without coughing. Sue’s healing work is at the level of a Master and is far beyond simple Reiki. I’m so grateful she was able to work with me and I highly recommend her. Sue Wang epitomizes pure love and light.”

Lane R., Author | Lightworker | Taos, New Mexico, USA

“Sue was able to focus me from a wild frenetic dreamer to a happily single-minded person, taking the thousand projects I’d told her I want to do and getting me to narrow down my summer to the actual doing of a dream book project! Her positivity along with her efforts to help simplify my thinking about what I might want made me more relaxed and happy with myself and therefore with my relationships than I’ve been in a long while, maybe ever. I was actually able to set a specific goal and achieve it, and therefore to see how necessary it is to break my desires for my life into smaller, do-able chunks. So grateful.”
